Kaspersky Lab announces its involvement in the Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organization, AMTSO. Today AMTSO announced its official formation and dedication to promulgating universally adopted standards and guidelines for anti-malware testing. The formation follows a meeting of more than 40 security software technologists and anti-malware testers from around the world, including Kaspersky Lab, in Bilbao, Spain recently.

EUGENE Kaspersky really hates the 2007 Hollywood blockbuster Die Hard 4.0, in which computer hackers attempt to steal billions of dollars by crashing computer systems across the US. But he doesn't hate it because it's a far-fetched movie with implausible action sequences or plot holes you could drive a semi through.

Anti malware vendor Kaspersky Lab moved into the hosted services arena for the first time today with the launch of Kaspersky Hosted Email Security AS (Anti-Spam) and Hosted Email Security AV.

The firm went live with the same service in Russia 18 months ago and has since expanded it to Germany and France, according to Kaspersky's European director of hosted services, Gunter Fuhrmann.
